Adult social care works in partnership with these and other local organisations to support residents throughout the borough.

Stockport Support Hub delivers all sorts of support services across our borough.

The One Stockport Live Well directory brings together services and organisations across the borough that can support you to be healthy and independent in your community.

Healthy Stockport has lots of information, resources and support to help protect your health and mental wellbeing now and in the future. Access free and confidential local support services to help you make positive lifestyle changes, and find out more about managing long term health conditions.

The Prevention Alliance offers support for physical, financial and mental wellbeing, connection to the community and housing for people with disabilities, health or lifestyle issues and their carers.

Community transport schemes can help you get out and about.

Emergency help out of normal office hours

We also have an out of hours service which is staffed by people with a good working knowledge and understanding of health and social care services.

The team works in partnership with other professionals and aims to make difficult situations safe for the people of Stockport. They provide emergency social work support to people in crisis. They can deal with:

  • problems with children and young people
  • older people who are at risk and need immediate help
  • people with mental health problems in times of crisis, including undertaking assessments under the Mental Health Act

  • Monday to Thursday: 4:30pm to 8:30am
  • Friday: 4pm to 8:30am. Monday: with 24 hour cover on bank holidays
