Stockport Homes are signing up to the covenant. They're making a number of pledges including:

  • offering personalised rehousing plans to all applicants who are current or former members of the armed forces and their families
  • giving priority to armed forces applicants for shared ownership properties
  • having a website section with targeted housing advice
  • having a dedicated link worker within the Housing Operations Team for armed forces applicants and support organisations
  • having priority access to tenancy support
  • having a fast track assessment for counselling services
  • providing money advice to housing applicants
  • providing armed forces link workers within Independent Living and Employment Support Teams
  • giving priority for training and volunteering opportunities
  • seeking to support the employment of veterans young and old, including advertising all appropriate vacancies within the business through the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) as well as our usual channels
  • giving meaningful feedback to every application received from military personnel
  • consideration will be given to apprenticeships each year to military personnel
  • striving to support the employment of service spouses and partners
  • aiming to offer a flexibility of leave for service spouses and partners before, during and after their partner's deployment
  • seeking to promote and support our employees who choose to be members of the Reserve or Cadet forces
  • offering support to the local cadet units, either in our local community or in local schools, wherever possible
  • advertising that they're an armed forces-friendly organisation by publicising their covenant pledges and displaying the Armed Forces Covenant logo where appropriate
  • attending and promoting Armed Forces Day and other related events and activities
