Children’s disability register

1. Overview

We want to make sure that we know how many disabled children and young people or how many children and young people with special needs that greatly affect their every-day life live in Stockport.

The law (Children’s Act 1989) requires that each council to keep a Children’s Disability Register to help it improve services now and in the future for children and young people with disabilities.

About the information you provide

The information you provide is held confidentially and securely within Stockport Council.

The information will be used to keep you up to date with information about appropriate services for your family or if we would like to survey the views of families if we are considering any changes to the services we provide. We may use the information to produce reports that we can use to plan and develop services.

Please note: names and addresses are never shared from the register.
