5. Other things to consider
The Children (Performances and Activities) (England) Regulations 2014 contains detailed information and guidance with regards to licensing.
We've put together a quick summary of the main considerations when applying for a performance licence for a child below.
Safety
We may request further information about an activity / performance. This is to check that it's safe for the young people taking part prior to granting the licence.
Accompanying a child
Children in entertainment must be accompanied by either their parent or an authorised Chaperone at all times when working.
We act on behalf of the Local Authority to vet applications from Stockport residents to be approved as Chaperones and / or Tutors for children in entertainment.
Spot Checks
We carry out spot check visits to premises in Stockport where young people are known to be performing or modelling.
We check arrangements such as washing facilities, dressing rooms and other environmental factors. We also speak to the child and parent to check that they're happy with things.
