3. Information advice and guidance in the community

Stockport Family NEET Team works with all young people Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) aged 16 and 17. The Raising of the Participation Age (RPA) requires all young people under the age of 18 to stay in learning until their 18th birthday. Stockport Family NEET Team work with young people and their families to ensure they are challenged and supported into sustainable EET.

All NEET young people aged 18+ have access to the Stockport Family NEET Team through the drop in service at Grand Central. This support continues up to the age of 25 for those with disabilities. Those young people regularly engaging with the service will be case loaded for support.

Stockport Family Careers and Transitions Team has a link worker with all local colleges and continues to support young people with SEND and LAC and will offer support if there is a risk of students dropping out of the provision.
