Our Business Support Service provides administrative support to front-line council services in a number of ways. We carry out a mixture of specialist duties and non-specialist duties such as:
- applications, licensing and external customer requests including transactional application processing, referrals and fines
- supporting our children’s services
- improving Business Support processes, recruitment and training
- management support; a team of PAs provide comprehensive and confidential personal support to our Chief Officers and Senior Leaders
- Neighbourhoods and Satellites; predominately working in Community Sites
- safeguarding including supporting adult services
finances; making sure we get best value for money and processing payments - education, including school places, admissions and transport
All roles within the Business Support service need:
- a high degree of attention to detail
- accuracy
- ability to work to deadlines
- excellent customer service skills
- the ability to work as a team as well as independently
In these roles staff need to work flexibly and take responsibility for a variety of administrative tasks, by working in different areas of the council as the need arises. Our staff support the many services we provide to the people of Stockport.
