February 2025 update
Exciting times ahead at Bramall Hall as the ‘Under our Roof’ restoration project get underway!
We're thrilled to announce the appointment of specialist heritage contractor, Restoration Projects to lead the eagerly anticipated restoration of Bramall Hall.
Bramall Hall’s iconic roof will be carefully repaired, protecting its priceless interiors from future damage and safeguarding this national treasure against the increasing challenges of climate change.
The restoration work, which is being completed in 3 phases, is set to take around 18 months and will be a fascinating process. Visitors will be able to see the restoration in action. You can find the order of the work phases on the following drawing.
While Bramall Hall will be partly wrapped in a tented scaffold for the duration of the project, we're hoping to remain open throughout the life of the project. This will give guests an opportunity to explore some of the intricate craftsmanship involved in traditional building techniques and heritage conservation on historic sites.
Once the work does get underway, there'll be some disruption for visitors to Bramall Hall as the site will look a little different. People can keep track of the progress of the work through regular updates on these pages.
To allow for the installation of the first phase of scaffolding, Bramall Hall will be closed from Tuesday 18 February until Easter 2025.
The shop and visitor centre in the stables block will be open as usual: Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 4:30pm.
