Mood-boosting books
Cognitive behavioural therapy self-help books can provide very effective help and treatment for a range of common emotional and mental health problems. They can help with common emotional and mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, phobias, low self-esteem, insomnia, panic and agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder and eating disorders.
Stockport Libraries have lots of “cheer you up” books, look for displays or ask the library staff about mood-boosting books.
We're taking part in the 'Reading Well Mood-boosting Books' scheme. It's a national promotion of uplifting titles, including novels, poetry and non-fiction.
You can view and download the list from the Reading Well website. A range of titles are available from Stockport Libraries.
