We're looking for relatives and friends of a number of deceased people whose ashes have been left in the care of Stockport Crematorium for some time.
We've been doing all we can to contact relatives using the information available to us. However, in some cases the contact details we hold are no longer up to date.
If you feel that the ashes of a loved one may be in our care, please read the following document:

We also continue to care for ashes that have been with us for many years, where we have not yet been able to trace any relatives. These are listed in the following document:

If you believe that any of the ashes listed may belong to a family member or friend, or if you think we may still be caring for the ashes of someone close to you, please contact Stockport Crematorium. You can:
- email stockport.crematorium@stockport.gov.uk
- call 0161 218 1600
Please contact us before 19 July 2026.
Our aim is to return ashes to families where possible. However, ashes that remain unclaimed 60 days after the publication of this page will be respectfully scattered in our beautiful gardens of remembrance at the crematorium by a member of our team. Records will be created detailing the location. This is in line with our policy for the final resting place of unclaimed ashes (PDF 238Kb).
