Our strengths and asset-based approach means we focus on what matters to people, what personalised outcomes they want to achieve and on enabling them to find the best solutions for themselves. It’s about self-determination and enabling people to live the lives they want to lead.

We’re building an Adult Social Care system in Stockport that’s based on outcomes, relationships and what matters most to the residents we support. We know that to do this we have to work closely with our residents, building a strong workforce who are able to work in a strengths-based way, to ensure the quality of the work we do with people means they are able to thrive.

In our social work teams across the service, we work with those aged 18 and over in a variety of situations. This is a diverse group of individuals and a key role for our social work teams is to promote independence, advocating the decisions, views, and choices of the person.
