Who can apply
When considering a request to access records of a person who has died, we'll require proof that you are the Personal Representative of the deceased.
A Personal Representative (PR) is an individual who is legally entitled to administer the estate of the person who has died. A PR will be one of the following:
Executor: someone instructed to administer the estate through a will
Administrator: a close relative of the deceased who can apply for a Grant of Letters of Administration from the court to administer the estate; administrators are appointed when no will exists
