Invest in Play
This is a 12 week face-to-face course. It's for Stockport parents and carers with children aged 2 to 12 years.
The course includes:
- play and positive attention
- support for children's learning, emotional and social skills
- caring boundaries
- self regulation strategies for caregivers and children
To be considered for a place, complete the Invest in Play expression of interest form.
Emotional regulation
In this online session, you can learn to support your child with their emotional regulation when they feel overwhelmed.
Suitable for parents and carers of children up to the age of 10 years old.
The session includes:
- an overview of how to support your child to soothe and process their emotions
- information about brain development, emotions and how dysregulation occurs, along with how the brain processes these big emotions
- discussions on the link between your child's thoughts and feelings, and how these can impact on their behaviour

Sleep seminar
This online session can help you deal with your child's sleep difficulties.
Suitable for parents and carers of children aged 2 to 10 years.
The session covers:
- barriers to sleep and how to overcome
- the importance of sleep
- sleep cycles
- anxiety
- sleepy foods
- common issues
- developing a good bedtime routine

Video interaction guidance
Our specialist Health Visitors are offering an exciting face-to-face intervention for parents and carers with children under 5 years old.
This includes up to 8 sessions in your own home.
Video interaction guidance is a strengths-based intervention where you're guided to reflect on video clips of interactions with your baby. The aim is to help increase your confidence as a parent or carer, and help you feel more connected to your baby.

Watch Me Play
Watch Me Play is a therapeutic approach that promotes child-led play, individual attention from caregivers, and talking with children about their play. This is a simple way for you to support and get to know your baby or young child at home.
It includes 3 to 4 face-to-face sessions in your own home.
Suitable for parents and carers of children up to the age of 7 years old.

Empowering Parents Empowering Communities (EPEC)
Stockport Empowering Parents Empowering Communities (EPEC) is a popular parenting programme delivered for parents, and by parents, in their own communities.

being a parent: for parents and carers of children aged 2 to 11 years
being a parent (autism): for parents and carers of children diagnosed with autism or on the pathway, with a developmental age of 5 to 11 years
being a parent together: for co-parenting couples (whether in a relationship or not)
Riding the Rapids Early Years
This is a 10 week face-to-face course. Each session is 2 hours long.
It's for Stockport parents and carers with children between 2 years old and pre-school who are neurodivergent. They may be on assessment waiting lists or seem to have some other additional needs or developmental issues. A formal diagnosis of autism is not required.
This course will:
- help you understand why your child behaves as they do
- introduce you to the concept of neurodiversity
- help reduce distressed behaviour by understanding and supporting your child's needs
- promote positive attachments and interactions, helping you think about the world as your child experiences it
- encourage your child’s growth and development
- help you manage stress
- give you the skills you can take on your journey with your child

Togetherness
Togetherness offers a range of online learning pathways for parents and families in childhood development, behaviour and emotional health.
Pathways are bitesize, self-guided and can be done at a time that is convenient for you. They're also available in multiple languages.
There are lots of pathways to choose from including:
- children’s early development and behaviour
- special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- adolescence and young people’s mental health
- adult emotional health including trauma
