Welcome to Walkaday Winter Walks Programme 2009 - 2010 – our programme of friendly led walks explores the parks, footpaths and greenspaces of Stockport.
To download the winter programme please see 'Related Documents' on the right of the page.
The programme aims to encourage people who are new to walking by offering walks at a leisurely pace. The walks are three miles long and unless stated otherwise the starting time is 1.30 p.m.
Each walk is paced to suit the needs of everyone in the group, so don’t worry about having to keep up. Walking is one of the best ways to improve your health and fitness so why not start with our walks and see how your fitness improves weekly?
Walkaday provides a starting point for people who are new to walking with an opportunity the enjoy the footpaths of Stockport in friendly company with people who enjoy an easy stroll or may feel that the activities of regular walking clubs may be too strenuous.
Regular, fit walkers must be prepared to accept an easy leisurely pace. If, as a newcomer to walking, you do have problems with the pace please inform a member of the Walkaday staff at 0161 474 4919.
As you do get fitter and feel that you would like to attempt longer walks and explore farther afield ring 0161-474 4919 for details of local walking clubs.
If you want any more information about the walks please ring the Public Rights of Way Team at Stockport Council on 0161-474 4919
