Transport Policy

The Transport Policy Team forms part of the Policy Section within the Transportation and Planning Department.

The Team's responsibilities include the preparation of local transport policies and strategies, as well as assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of the Greater Manchester Local Transport Plan. They are also responsible for the management of the Council's Transportation Capital Programme.

The Transport Policy Team regularly liaises with the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive / Authority (GMPTE/A) as well as public transport operators to maintain and improve public transport services throughout the Borough.
