Mill Street/Peter Street/Sainsbury's Car Park, Hazel Grove, Junction Modification
The purpose of the scheme is to improve and increase vehicle capacity and pedestrian facilities and reduce congestion at the junction.
The work includes installing new ductwork across some of the carriageways and within the footways; traffic signal equipment and cabling; reconstructing the islands; carriageway resurfacing and commissioning a more efficient form of traffic signal operation.
The Council's contractor will start work at the junction on Sunday, 19th February 2012, the anticipated scheme duration is 8 weeks.
Traffic Management systems (barriers, cones and signs) will be applied to the junction throughout the scheme.
