Parking Permits

There are a number of types of parking permit that are available in Stockport. These include:

Contract permits available in car parks

Resident permits in car parks

Resident and visitor permits for on-street parking
The purpose of a Permit Parking Scheme is to prevent the long-term parking of vehicles owned by non-residents by providing space where only residents and their visitors can park.

The booklet - New Permit Parking Scheme Stockport - found under 'Related Documents' to the right of this page, also explains how residents go about petitioning the Council to investigate the level of conflict between the on-street parking needs of residents and the demand for parking created by non-residents.
