Stockport Council has the authority to carry out maintenance/repairs to roads and highways which have been formally adopted by the Local Authority and which are listed as the responsibility of the Local Authority.
The responsibility for unadopted roads lies with the owners of the properties fronting or backing onto the road and the owners are responsible for the ongoing maintenance.
