Reporting a Problem

Highways Defect

The area repair teams will attend to all defects that meet the criteria set out on the Highways Repairs page following a routine safety inspection.  If you notice a defect that you feel requires more urgent attention, such as:-

  • Road or footway collapse
  • Obstruction of the highway
  • Highway flooding
  • Missing gully covers
  • Damaged safety fencing / barriers

Faulty Street Equipment

Street equipment includes:

  • Streetlights
  • Bollards
  • Illuminated Signs
  • Hanging Overhead Equipment
  • School Crossing Lights
  • Non-Illuminated Signs
  • Street Name Plates
  • Traffic Lights/Pelican Crossings
  • Festive Lights
  • Zebra Crossings

Road Marking or Sign Fault

You can report a road marking or sign fault using our online form.

Problems with Traffic Signals

To report a problem with a set of permanent traffic signals please complete the online form on the Transport for Greater Manchester website.

Penalty Charge Notice Appeals

If you have received a Penalty Charge Notice that you feel was incorrectly issued, you can appeal against it using our online form.

To give your appeal the best chance of success, please set out as clearly as possible the reasons why you believe the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) should be cancelled. This might include an explanation of why you consider you were not parked unlawfully, or mitigating factors that you would like us to take into account, or a combination of the two.
