Carr Wood

The Woodland

Carr wood is a site of biological importance and a local nature reserve. It is an area of ancient and semi-natural woodland and is a continuation of similar woodland in Bramhall Park. It is a steep sided clough with a brook flowing through the middle which joins the ladybrook in Bramhall Park.
The main tree species is Ash and sycamore. The woodland has a good canopy structure and although there are some invasive species, these are less of a problem than other woodlands.
It is a valuable area for woodland birds, insects and woodland plants and flowers.

Getting here and accessibility

The woodland can be accessed from Carrwood road and Carr wood avenue in Bramhall. The wood is adjacent to Bramhall park golf course. A path runs through the wood.
