Brabyn’s Wood

The Woodland

Brabyn’s wood is situated to the west of the park and adjacent to the Peak Forest Canal. The dominant tree species is Beech. Many of these are now old and mature. There are some woodland flowers in spring. It is also good area for bird watching.
Further woodland walks can be found around the park and close to the river Goyt.

Getting here and accessibility

Brabyn’s Wood is situated in the Marple area of Stockport. The woodland is within Brabyn’s Park. The Peak Forest Canal runs alongside the wood on its western edge. Access is from Brabyn’s Brow. Care should be taken as some footpaths are steep.
