The Midshires Way

The Midshires Way is a long-distance footpath and bridleway across middle England, approximately 225 miles long. It links the Ridgeway with the Trans Pennine Trail and then to the Pennine Way, thus opening up the possibilities of a long walk or ride along the length of England.

Midshires Way

From South to North, the Midshires Way crosses Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and the Peak National Park, before reaching the Pennines near Stockport, in Greater Manchester. The Stockport section is from Etherow Country Park at Compstall to the Trans Pennine Trail at Tiviot way in the Tame Valley at Stockport
