Look Out For Your New Recycling Calendar

17 Nov 2011
Stockport Council will be delivering new waste and recycling collection calendars to homes in the borough from Friday 18 November.

The new calendars will include details about collection days for the next two years and a handy guide on which things should go in which bin.

Collection days for the majority of households have remained the same but residents are also reminded to check their calendar carefully over the festive period, as some collection days may change due to public holidays.

Councillor Shan Alexander, Executive Member for the Environment at Stockport Council, said: “To deliver better value for money our new calendars now give residents two years’ worth of collection dates. As well as cutting back on paper and postage we hope that this will make it even more convenient for residents who will have an easy to follow guide for the next two years.  People in Stockport have been doing a great job at recycling and I urge everyone to keep up the good work!”

Everyone can boost the borough’s recycling by making sure they put the right items into their recycling bins. For more information about the Council’s ‘ Right Thing Right Bin’ information programme visit www.stockport.gov.uk/waste

There is more information about collection days on the website and replacement calendars are available to print out.
