Recycling Collections in Flats and Apartments

If you live in a high or low rise flat, your recycling and refuse is likely to be collected in communal containers that you will share with the other residents.

Communal containers are being changed so that residents in flats can recycle additional materials such as cardboard, phone books, drinks cartons and plastic bottles.

The shared bins will have new stickers on them to indicate the changes and a postcard will be delivered to each flat to let you know about the changes.  To download the postcard, please see 'Related Documents' on the right.

What can I recycle at my flats?

  • Newspapers and magazines
  • All types of cardboard
  • Drinks cartons
  • Phone books
  • Plastic bottles
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Food tins and drinks cans
  • Empty aerosols
  • Aluminium foil

Use our 'Contact Us Form' to tell us if you live in a flat and are not yet able to recycling the additional materials such as plastic bottles and cardboard. A recycling officer will then visit your flats to put in place the new service.
