Assisted Collection Service

Did you know that we can provide an assisted collection service if you are not able to put your wheelie bin, recycling box or bin bag out for collection e.g. for example because of mobility problems or illness?

Normally your wheelie bin, box or bin bag must be placed out at the front edge of your property or at a collection point by 7am on your collection point.  However if there is no one in your household who is able to do this because of a mobility problem for example then you can apply for an assisted collection.

You can apply for an assisted collection if you have no other member of your household who is able to help and is:

  1. Registered as a Blue Badge holder (mobility parking permit holder); or
  2. Not able to put out recycling receptacles because of a mobility problem or illness.

Our aim is to process requests for this service within four weeks of receiving the filled in application. If we decline a request, we will explain why and how to appeal against our decision. Every year we will review who we give this service to.
