New Government Legislation:
From 1 October 2011, new Government legislation will see water companies in England and Wales take over many sewer pipes which are currently under private ownership.
This will have implications for most types of building work where the work would involve excavations or works to existing private sewers.
Stockport Building Control is working in partnership with the other nine local authorities in Greater Manchester and United Utilities to ensure that the impact of this change will not overly affect the smooth running of your building project.
