Advisory notes offering guidance to building control issues.

This document lists the guidance notes currently available along with some basic information about what each contains.

Building Control Guidance Notes

• 002 Frequently Asked Questions (18kb PDF File)- Advice for owners on choosing a builder and why Building Control fees represent good value for money.

• 004 Height and stability of chimneys to solid fuel appliances (112kb PDF File) - Includes tables to read off how high your chimney will need to be and to calculate the minimum width required for stability.

• 005 Cold Bridges and how to avoid the problems they cause (93kb PDF File) - Explains what is meant by the term cold bridge and gives construction details of how they can be avoided.
