A positive contribution to public health

The Heartbeat Award is given to caterers who are committed to offering greater choice to customers through the provision of a healthy environment and healthier food choices.
It recognises their contribution towards public health and the local and national targets set for the reduction of coronary heart disease, diabetes, strokes and obesity.
The award was developed by Health Promotion England, and the Department of Health. It is endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and co-ordinated in Stockport by Stockport Council's Environmental Health & Trading Standards as part of the Council's involvement in the Stockport Health Promise.
Businesses and organisations which meet the criteria are entitled to display the certificate for one year and use the Heartbeat logo for promotions.
