Rewarding high standards of food hygiene
Please note, this award is not being run during 11/12 but will be reviewed for next year.
The Food Safety Award is a scheme operated by Environmental Health & Trading Standards. It rewards those food businesses who operate at a consistently high standard of food hygiene.
Businesses are invited to enter the award following an inspection officer's nomination. Those who finally receive the award have demonstrated, on three unannounced award visits, legal structural compliance, correct temperature control of foodstuffs, safe practices, good management techniques and have minimised the risk of contamination to food. Staff must also be trained to the appropriate level for their job.
For more information on the Food Safety Award contact the Food Safety Team, see 'Related Contacts' on the right of the page.
