Dog Fouling in Your Area

Every month the Dog Warden Service monitors how many fouling complaints have been received.

Shown below is the total number of fouling complaints that have been received about the 7 areas of Stockport within the last 3 months.

This includes general fouling complaints and complaints where an alleged offender has been identified.

Please note, every year the service encounters a seasonal increase in dog fouling complaints with the highest number usually received during the months of January and February.

This is an ongoing pattern which the service is aware of and which the Council is continually striving to tackle.

In July 2015 the Council successfully prosecuted a local resident for allowing their dog to foul and failing to remove the faeces from Harper Street, Edgeley.  The offender was ordered to pay a fine of £200, costs of £359 and a victim surcharge of £20.

The most recent fixed penalty notice issued for a dog fouling offence was on 26 June 2015 for an offence witnessed on Bowdon Street, Edgeley.
