LSS Structure
The Learning Support Service supports pupils in mainstream primary and secondary schools. The primary sector provision consists of 3 Area Teams to cover the borough, each with a team leader and core team members. The 3 area team leaders together with the Head and Deputy of Service form the senior management team.
LSS Support
On-going teacher assessment and sensitive classroom observation have always been an integral part of good SEN practice. These enable the teacher to match the tasks set to the abilities and needs of the pupils as they progress. The Service has a range of diagnostic tools available (both in-house, and commercially produced) to identify targets which are then formalised on an Individual Education Plan (IEP).
