Portage Service
It is recognised that the most effective way of helping young children is to reinforce their parents’ confidence in their own abilities. Portage recognises and respects the pre-eminent role of parents in their children’s care and development; understands the need to provide psycho-social support for parents in a holistic sense. Information includes areas visited, autism provision, childminders' links, early years settings & training opportunities.
SEN and Disability Support
Children with special educational needs all have disabilities that make it harder for them to learn than most children of the same age. These children may need extra or different help and support. SEN is part of Stockport Children & Young People's Disability Partnership. Partnership services include Stockport Portage Service, Aiming High for Disabled Children and Children's Therapy Services, from the PCT and Foundation Trust.
