The Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport for 2009/10
The Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport for 2009-2010 are Councillor Colin MacAlister and Mrs Nicola MacAlister.
The Mayor's Charity during his Mayoral year is Mayor of Stockport 's Charity Fund. Donations to this worthwhile cause would be most welcome.
The Mayor of Stockport 's Charity Fund will shortly be registering with the Charities Commission and setting up as an independent charity designed to assist the people of Stockport, by helping individuals, smaller charitable and voluntary groups within the Borough who may need assistance.
It is intended that money from the fund is distributed once a year, after the Mayor's term of office, and selected from groups/individuals who fulfil the criteria for assistance and who satisfactorily complete the required application form.
The Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress are Councillor Stuart Corris and Councillor Christine Corris.
The Mayor and Mayoress are also happy to receive invitations from local organisations to attend events in the area. Due to the high demand, it is not possible to guarantee the availability of the Mayor or Deputy Mayor.
