Elections

If you are 18 or over and have registered, voting is the most important way to make your voice heard on the issues affecting your everyday life.

Stockport Council is divided into 21 electoral wards. Each ward is represented on the Council by three Councillors who are elected for a four year term of office. Local Elections in Stockport take place in thirds when one Councillor in each ward retires and an election is held to elect a new representative.
