Terms of Reference
Advising the Executive and the Corporate Director, Children & Young People on all aspects of the assessment of pupils; the monitoring and evaluation of the education service, including the performance of schools; the curriculum; matters relating to the Standards Fund and the consideration of reports of Ofsted relating to educational establishments and the Careers Service.

Terms of Reference
To advise the Executive on the role of the Council as a 'Corporate Parent'.
This working party consists of 6 Councillors: Richard Coaton, Margaret McLay, Maureen Rowles, Ann Smith, Lisa Walker and Suzanne Wyatt (Chair)
Schools Forum
Terms of Reference
To advise the Executive on:-
(i) any proposed changes to the funding formula;
(ii) the terms of any proposed contract for supplies or services paid out of the schools budget where the estimated value is not less than the thresholds in Regulation 7(i) of the Public Services Contracts Regulations 1993 or Regulation 7(2) of the Public Supply Contracts Regulations 1995;
(iii) annually on the schools budget in connection with:-
(a) special education needs
(b) pupil referral units and the education of the children otherwise than at school
(c) early years education
(d) insurance
(e) revisions to the scheme for the financing of schools
(f) administrative arrangements for the allocation of central government grants
(g) arrangements for school meals
(iv) any other matters on the funding of schools as the authority sees fit.

Standing Advisory Committee on Religious Education
Terms of Reference
To advise the Executive upon such matters connected with religious worship in schools and the religious education to be given in accordance with an agreed syllabus as the Executive may refer to the Standing Advisory Council or as the Standing Advisory Council may see fit.
This advisory council has 3 Councillors, Owen Breen, Chris Gordon and Anne Graham.
together with representatives of the Corporate Director, Children & Young People, the Church of England, the Teachers’ Panel and such Christian and other religious denominations as will appropriately reflect the principal religious traditions in the Borough.
Local Development Framework Working Party
Terms of Reference
To advise the Executive on the preparation and approval of the local development document which constitute the Council's Local Development Framework.
The working party consist of 9 Councillors appointed by the Annual Council Meeting: Stuart Bodsworth, Sue Derbyshire, Lenny Grice, Philip Harding, Kevin Hogg, Mick Jones, Andrew Verdeille, Craig Wright and Independent Ratepayer Vacancy.
Town Centre/ M60 Gateway Task Force
Terms of Reference
To advise the Executive on and oversee the regeneration of the Town Centre and M60 Gateway
This working party consists of 7 Councillors: Peter Burns, Sue Derbyshire (Vice-Chair), David Goddard (Chair), Kevin Hogg, Les Jones, Andrew Verdeille and David White.
(NOTE: The Task Force consists of the Leader of the Council (Chair), the Deputy Leader of the Council (Vice chair) the Executive Councillors (Regeneration) and (Transportation) together with the Group Leaders)
