Stockport Registration Service is pleased to offer a Nationality Checking Service (NCS)
NCS is a partnership between the Home Office Border and Immigration Agency and some local authorities in England and Wales.
Applying for British Citizenship can seem difficult so, for a fee, we can:
- check applications have been completed correctly and have the required supporting documents
- check and certify copies of your documents (e.g. current passport)so that these documents can be retained by the applicant(s)
- check that applications include the correct payment for the Home Office to process them
- forward applications to the Home Office by secure post.
Applicants must satisfy three main criteria:-
- They must have an appropriate residential qualification dependent on the section of the Immigration Act under which they are applying.
- They must have been granted Indefinite Leave to Remain in the United Kingdom
- and they must have proficiency in English Language.
Further information can be gained by clicking on the 'Related Links' on the right of this page.
Benefits of the Nationality Checking Service
NCS does not guarantee such applications are dealt with differently than other applications. However, it is a fact that applications which have used NCS complete the British Citizenship process quicker than those applications which have not been properly completed. Applicants also retain important original documents such as passports and birth certificates.
