We can only supply copy certificates for births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships that occurred in the Stockport Registration District.
Standard certificates contain all the details in the register and cost £10.00 each. To obtain a copy certificate you need to complete an application form. Certificates are normally available for collection or posting out within a week (e.g. application made/received on a Monday, certificate normally available by the following Monday).
We offer an Express Service for same day issue of copy certificates. Applications must be received before 2.00pm. This service costs £22.00 (including VAT).
The Register Office is situated in the Town Hall, entrance is via John Street (off Wellington Road South) and no appointment is necessary for copy certificate applications.
Opening hours are 8.30am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (please note we are closed on the morning of the first Wednesday each month).
