Trading on Stockport Market

If you have never traded before, you may be eligible for a place on ‘Market Start’, our enterprise scheme. This scheme offers free business training, staged rental payments and grants towards stock purchase. To find out more about the scheme, ask for a brochure at the Market Office or download one from 'Related Documents' on the right of the page.

If you have traded on other markets, you can download our ‘Welcome Pack’ and Registration Form. See 'Related Documents' on the right of the page.

  • Complete the Traders Registration Form
  • Arrive at the Market Office Reception on the morning you wish to trade between 8.00am and 8.30am. Please bring:

    • Public Liability Insurance certificate for £5 million cover
      • If you do not already have Public Liability Insurance Cover, you can obtain it on the morning you wish to trade – once payment has been received, you will be instantly covered and will be able to trade immediately.
    • Photographic ID
    • Proof of address
  • After the registration process (listed above) has been completed, you will be allocated a marquee for that day’s trade.

    Marquee prices are as follows:

    • 15’ x 10’ marquee = £32.25 inclusive of publicity

If you have your own stall structure that you would like to erect, please ring the Market Office before you trade to check availability and to confirm the price.
