Stockport Council is encouraging local people to have their say on a draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) for Woodford Aerodrome Opportunity Site.
The SPD will provide guidance for the future of the site and ensure the delivery of a development that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.
A statutory six week consultation period started on Monday 3 September and will end on Monday 15 October.
The draft SPD will be available to view on the Council’s website at www.stockport.gov.uk/woodfordspd, at the Council’s main reception at Fred Perry House (between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and between 8.30am and 4.30pm Fridays) and at all libraries and local information centres in Stockport, during their regular opening hours.
As part of the statutory consultation period, residents have also attended two special public events, to discuss the SPD with Council officers.
Councillor Iain Roberts, Executive Member for Economic Development and Regeneration at Stockport Council, said: “The Supplementary Planning Document is very important in guiding the future development of Woodford Aerodrome Opportunity Site. Thanks to everyone who has taken part in the consultation so far. Anyone who hasn’t yet and would like to have their say, please let us know your comments before Monday 15 October.”
The draft SPD will also be presented and discussed at the Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme Area Committee meeting at 6.30pm Thursday 11 October at the Woodford Centre, Chester Road, Woodford.
Following the statutory consultation period, Stockport Council will consider all feedback and prepare the final SPD for approval by the Council’s Executive.
