23rd January - 6th March: St James Road, Heaton Moor

Stockport Council will be reconstructing the footways on St James Road in Heaton Moor (full length). The work will be carried out by Stockport Council’s wholly owned company Solutions SK.


26th January - ongoing: Edgeley Road, Edgeley

Stockport Council will be resurfacing the footways on Edgeley Road, Edgeley, from approximately the junction of Dale Street to the junction of Edgeley Fold (one side only). The work will be carried out by Stockport Council’s wholly owned company Solutions SK.
 
The work will involve the use of temporary traffic management measures at certain locations along this stretch to allow safe working for our operatives and highway users.

Access to properties and the library will be maintained where possible but may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses.


29th January - 26th February: Carmenna Drive, Bramhall

Stockport Council will be resurfacing the footway on Carmenna  Drive,  Bramhall.  The work will be carried out by our alliance partner  J. Cooney Ltd.


2nd February - 2nd March: Laneside Drive, Bramhall

Stockport Council will be resurfacing the the footway on Laneside Drive, Bramhall.  The work will be carried out by our alliance partner George Cox and Sons Ltd. 


4th February - 4th March: Regent Close and Briarfield Road, Cheadle Hulme

Stockport Council will be resurfacing the footways on Regent Close and Briarfield Road in Cheadle Hulme. The work will be carried out by Stockport Council’s wholly owned company Solutions SK.


9th February - 2nd March: Croft Road, Cheadle Hulme

Stockport Council will be resurfacing the footways on Croft Road in Cheadle Hulme. The work will be carried out by Stockport Council’s wholly owned company Solutions SK.


9th February - 13th July: Buxton Road, Hazel Grove

Contractors will be carrying out works on the A6 Buxton Road access to the Stagecoach Park and Ride facility currently being constructed on land off Melford Road, Hazel Grove.

Two way traffic will be maintained past the works with a temporary pedestrian footway provided.

There will be times during the construction phase when temporary two way traffic signals will be required.


11th - 26th February: Bean Leach Road, Offerton

Contractors working on behalf of National Grid will be undertaking works to renew the gas services on Bean Leach Road, Offerton at the junction with Poise Brook Road. These works require the following traffic management:-

  • Two-way traffic signals from Wednesday 11th February 2015 to Friday 13th February 2015
  • Road closure from Saturday 14th February 2015 to Sunday 22nd February 2015
  • Two-way traffic signals from Monday 23rd February 2015 to Thursday 26th February 2015

Access to properties in the working zone will be maintained where possible and a signed diversion route will be in place for the road closure via Shearwater Road and Marple Road.


11th February - 3rd March: Stockport Road West, Bredbury

Contractors working on behalf of United Utilities will be installing the link connections from the main sewer in Stockport Road West, Bredbury into the new storm overflow tank currently being constructed in Morrisons Car Park.

Two way traffic will be maintained utilising a single lane in each direction on Stockport Road West and Ashton Road through the junction at all times during construction.


13th February - Ongoing: Andrew Lane, High Lane

Contractors working on behalf of Electricity North West are currently attending to a High Voltage cable fault in the carriageway on Andrew Lane, High Lane, close to the junction with Fairacres Road.

These works require the road to be closed to traffic.

Diversions will be in place via Andrew Lane, Windlehurst Road, Buxton Road.


14th February - 2nd March: A34 Kingsway, Cheadle

Contractors will be working on the East and West Retaining Walls of the Kingsway Interchange, Cheadle resolving the defects identified by recent Structural Inspections.

In order for the works to be undertaken a single lane closure of both the northbound and southbound carriageways is required. This includes a works approach and departure lengths, Traffic Safety Measures and Signs for Road Works and Temporary Situations, incorporating the on/off slip roads for both carriageways.

The works will be carried out 'Off Peak' between 9.30am and 3.30pm.  


15th February - 8th March: Churchgate, Central Stockport

Contractors working on behalf of the new Seddon’s Housing Development will be undertaking footway improvement works on Churchgate, Central Stockport, between the junctions with Waterloo Road and Wellington Street. 

These works will require the introduction of a temporary easterly one way system on Churchgate. The signed diversion routes will be:

  • For traffic travelling west along Spring Gardens - Via Waterloo Road, Edward Street, Lower Hillgate, Wellington Street.
  • For traffic travelling north along Waterloo Road – Via Spring Gardens, St Mary's Way, Hempshaw Lane, Higher Hillgate, Middle Hillgate, Lower Hillgate, Wellington Street.

In addition there will also be a prohibition of right turn from Churchgate into Wellington Street from Sunday 15th February 2015 to Thursday 19th February 2015.  The diversion route will be:

  • Via Churchgate, Waterloo Road, Middle Hillgate, Lower Hillgate.


16th February - 2nd March 2015: Bridge Lane, Bramhall

Stockport Council will be resurfacing the footway on Bridge Lane, Bramhall (even number side only, between Headlands Road and opposite Hillcrest Road).  The work will be carried out by our alliance partner J. Cooney Ltd.

Access to properties will be maintained where possible but may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses.  


16th February - 2nd March: Torkington Road, Hazel Grove

Stockport Council will be carrying out highway drainage repairs and improvements on Torkington Road, Hazel Grove between Buxton Road (A6) and Avondale Avenue. The work will be carried out by Stockport Council's wholly owned company Solutions SK. 

Temporary two way traffic signals will be required during parts of the work programme. The traffic signals will only be in use during the working week between 9.00am to 3.30pm.


23rd - 27th February: The Ridge, Marple

Stockport Council will be resurfacing part of the carriageway on The Ridge from the junction of Hawk Green Road for approximately 280 metres in a southerly direction. This work will be carried out by our Alliance Partner Lafarge/Tarmac.

All works will be carried out between 9.00am and 3.30pm. To carry out this work it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements with a prohibition of driving (road closure) to minimise disruption and allow safe working operations to take place.

A diversion route will be signed utilising; The Ridge/Wybersley Road/Carr Brow/Buxton Road/Windlehurst Road and Hawk Green.


26th - 27th February: Heaton Moor Road, Heaton Moor

Contractors working on behalf of Vodafone will be carrying out works to their mast on Heaton Moor Road, between Kings Drive and Hawthorn Grove, Heaton Moor.

The work will require the use of temporary traffic signals between 9.30am and 3.30pm.


27th February - 3rd March: Longhurst Lane, Mellor

Contractors working on behalf of British Telecom will be undertaking works to install a duct in the footway on Longhurst Lane, Mellor, between the junctions with Parkside Lane and Old Hall Lane. 

These works will require the use of two way traffic signals between 8.00am and 5.00pm.


28th February - 1st March: Buxton Road, High Lane

Contractors working on behalf of BT will be working on Buxton Road, High Lane at the junction with Andrew Lane.

The works will require the use of temporary traffic signals between 9.00am and 4.00pm.


2nd - 10th March: Hooley Range/Cranbourne Road/Hawthorn Grove - Heaton Moor

Stockport Council will be resurfacing the carriageways (weather permitting) as listed below:

  • Hooley Range - work commences on Monday 2nd March to Friday 6th March.
  • Cranbourne Road - work commences on Tuesday 3rd March to Monday 9th March.
  • Hawthorn Grove - work commences on Wednesday 4th March to Tuesday 10th March.

The above works will be carried out between 8.00am and 4.00pm.

To carry out this work, it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements with a prohibition of driving (road closure). The works will be carried out by our alliance partner Lafarge/Tarmac.

Information boards will be erected on site, prior to any works commencing, advising road users of the programmed work.


7th - 8th March: Lingard Lane, Bredbury

Contractors working on behalf of British Telecom will be undertaking works to clear a blocked duct on Lingard Lane, Bredbury, at the junction with Ashton Road. 

These works will require the use of a temporary lane closure.


9th - 20th March: Bramhall Park Road, Bramhall

Stockport Council will be resurfacing part of the carriageway on Bramhall Park Road/Carrwood Road from the junction with Manor Road to Warren Close. This work will be carried out by our Alliance Partner Lafarge/Tarmac.

All works will be carried out between 8.00am to 5.30pm. To carry out this work it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements with a prohibition of driving (road closure) to minimise disruption and allow safe working operations to take place.

A diversion route will be signed utilising; Carrwood Road, Bramhall Lane South and Bramhall Park Road. Access to properties in the working zone will be maintained where possible but may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses.
