Stockport Road Works Information

6th March–November: Otterspool Road, Romiley

United Utilities contractors have started works to install a new sewer outfall on Otterspool Road, Romiley, between the junctions with Vale Road and Hurstheads Lane.

These works are due to be completed by November 2014 and will require the use of temporary two-way signals for the duration of the works.


19th March–October: Dialstone Lane, Offerton

Contractors working on behalf of British Telecom have started preliminary diversionary works on relocating fibre optic cables on Dialstone Lane at the junction with Dial Road ahead of the United Utilities flood alleviation scheme.

The BT works will require the use of temporary two-way signals, staffed during peak periods, and side road junction closures of Dial Road and Magda Road for approximately three weeks.

Once the BT plant has been relocated, United Utilities contractors will take possession of the site under the same temporary two-way light traffic management and side road junction closure including Katherine Road and Hollymount Drive, to start the tunnelling operations associated with the installation of the new sewers.

It is expected that this scheme will take up to six months to complete.


14th July – 5th October: Manchester Road, Cheadle

Contractors working on behalf of Stockport Council will be undertaking major carriageway and footway improvement works on Manchester Road, Cheadle, between the junction with Mill Lane up to the border with Manchester at the River Mersey.

Works will require the use of two-way signals.


26th August – 26th September: Windlehurst Road, Marple

Contractors working on behalf of Electricity North West will be working on their cables on Windlehurst Road, Marple from the junction of Hawk Green Road to just pass the junction of Ridge Crescent.

Works will require temporary two-way signals for the first two weeks.


1st - 29th September: Woodville Grove, Reddish

Stockport Council will be carrying out footway reconstruction works on Woodville Grove, Reddish. This work will be carried out by our wholly owned company Solutions SK.

Access to properties will be maintained where possible but may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses. Although some disruption is inevitable this will be kept to a minimum by our staff on site.


3rd September - 22nd October: Cromley Road, High Lane

Stockport Council will be carrying out footway resurfacing works the full length of Cromley Road, High Lane. The work will be carried out by our Alliance partner J Cooney Ltd.


3rd September - TBA: Ladybridge Road, Cheadle Hulme

Stockport Council will be carrying out footway repairs on Ladybridge Road between the junction of Twining Brook Road and Regent Close. This work will be carried out by our alliance partner Colas Ltd.

The work is anticipated to commence within the next two weeks. Work is expected to take up to 2 weeks to complete weather permitting.

The works will require the use of temporary traffic controls between 9.30am - 3.30pm.

Access to properties in the working zone will be maintained where possible but may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses.


15th - 29th September: A5102 Woodford Road, Woodford

Stockport Council will be resurfacing part of the carriageway at Woodford Road between approximately 158 Woodford Road to Moorend Golf Club. This work will be carried out by our alliance partner Lafarge/Tarmac Ltd.

The work will be carried out between 9.30am and 3.30pm and will require the use of temporary traffic signals.


15th - 29th September: Bridge Lane, Bramhall

Stockport Council will be carrying out highway drainage repairs and improvements on Bridge Lane, Bramhall between number 5 Bridge Lane and The Brookdale Theatre.

The majority of the work will be carried out within the footpath however temporary two-way traffic signals will be used 24th  - 26th September, 2014.


15th - 23rd September: Great Egerton Street, Stockport

Contractors working on behalf of Stockport Council will be undertaking gully and manhole inspection works along all of Great Egerton Street, Stockport.

These works will require the use of stop/go boards between 9.00am and 3:30pm.


16th - 23rd September: Elmfield Road, Davenport

Stockport Council will be resurfacing part of the carriageway on Elmfield Road from approximately Oakfield Road to Beechfield Road. This work will be carried out by our alliance partner Lafarge/Tarmac Ltd.
 
To carry out this work it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements with a prohibition of driving (road closure) for through traffic on Elmfield Road 8.00am – 5.30pm daily. During this time a signed diversion will be in operation to minimise disruption.

Access to properties in the working zone will be maintained where possible but may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses.

Information boards will be erected on site advising road users of the programmed work.


21st - 26th September: Torkington Road, Hazel Grove

Contractors working on behalf of Electricity North West are undertaking immediate works to repair an underground low voltage mains cable fault on Torkington Road, Hazel Grove, between the junctions with Avondale Road and Avondale Avenue. 

These works currently require the use of two way signals.


21st - 23rd September: A34 Kingsway, Cheadle

Contractors working on behalf of Transport for Greater Manchester will be undertaking works to replace the sensor loops for the existing speed cameras on the A34, Kingsway, Cheadle under the Etchells Road overpass.

These works require the use of lane closures between the hours of 8pm and 6am only.


23rd September - 1st October: Longhurst Lane, Marple Bridge

Contractors working on behalf of Electricity North West will be undertaking works to disconnect a service on Longhurst Lane, Marple Bridge, close to the junction with Highfield Road, outside the old Cataract Bridge Mill site. 

These works require the use of two-way signals.


26th September: Finney Lane, Heald Green

Contractors working on behalf of United Utilities will be undertaking works to replace a manhole frame and cover on Finney Lane, Heald Green, between the junctions with  Roseacre Drive and Thornton Road. 

These works require the use of two-way signals between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.


27th - 28th September: Hulme Hall Road, Cheadle Hulme

Contractors working on behalf of United Utilities will be carrying out drainage work on Hulme Hall Road, at the junction of Upton Avenue and Claremont Road.

The works will require the use of multi-way signals.


29th September - 10th October: Buxton Road, Heaviley

Contractors working on behalf of Stockport Council will be undertaking highway drainage repairs on Buxton Road, Heaviley, between the junctions with Higher Hillgate and Nangreave Road. 

The works require the use of a southbound lane closure, between the hours of 8.00am and 3.30pm only.  Access to properties will be maintained at all times.
