23rd January - 6th March: St James Road, Heaton Moor

Stockport Council will be reconstructing the footways on St James Road in Heaton Moor (full length). The work will be carried out by Stockport Council’s wholly owned company Solutions SK.


26th January - ongoing: Edgeley Road, Edgeley

Stockport Council will be resurfacing the footways on Edgeley Road, Edgeley, from approximately the junction of Dale Street to the junction of Edgeley Fold (one side only). The work will be carried out by Stockport Council’s wholly owned company Solutions SK.
 
The work will involve the use of temporary traffic management measures at certain locations along this stretch to allow safe working for our operatives and highway users.

Access to properties and the library will be maintained where possible but may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses.


9th February - 13th July: Buxton Road, Hazel Grove

Contractors will be carrying out works on the A6 Buxton Road access to the Stagecoach Park and Ride facility currently being constructed on land off Melford Road, Hazel Grove.

Two way traffic will be maintained past the works with a temporary pedestrian footway provided.

There will be times during the construction phase when temporary two way traffic signals will be required.


13th February - Ongoing: Andrew Lane, High Lane

Contractors working on behalf of Electricity North West are currently attending to a High Voltage cable fault in the carriageway on Andrew Lane, High Lane, close to the junction with Fairacres Road.

These works require the road to be closed to traffic.

Diversions will be in place via Andrew Lane, Windlehurst Road, Buxton Road.


15th February - 8th March: Churchgate, Central Stockport

Contractors working on behalf of the new Seddon’s Housing Development will be undertaking footway improvement works on Churchgate, Central Stockport, between the junctions with Waterloo Road and Wellington Street. 

These works will require the introduction of a temporary easterly one way system on Churchgate. The signed diversion routes will be:

  • For traffic travelling west along Spring Gardens - Via Waterloo Road, Edward Street, Lower Hillgate, Wellington Street.
  • For traffic travelling north along Waterloo Road – Via Spring Gardens, St Mary's Way, Hempshaw Lane, Higher Hillgate, Middle Hillgate, Lower Hillgate, Wellington Street.

In addition there will also be a prohibition of right turn from Churchgate into Wellington Street from Sunday 15th February 2015 to Thursday 19th February 2015.  The diversion route will be:

  • Via Churchgate, Waterloo Road, Middle Hillgate, Lower Hillgate.


27th February - 17th April: Ack Lane East, Bramhall

Contractors working on behalf of National Grid are renewing their services on Ack Lane East from the junction with Hillbrook Road to  Robins Lane.

The work will require the use of temporary multi-way signals at the junction with Robins Lane from 27th February until 8th March.

Temporary two-way signals may be required further on into the work.


2nd - 10th March: Hooley Range/Cranbourne Road/Hawthorn Grove - Heaton Moor

Stockport Council will be resurfacing the carriageways (weather permitting) as listed below:

  • Hooley Range - work commences on Monday 2nd March to Friday 6th March.
  • Cranbourne Road - work commences on Tuesday 3rd March to Monday 9th March.
  • Hawthorn Grove - work commences on Wednesday 4th March to Tuesday 10th March.

The above works will be carried out between 8.00am and 4.00pm.

To carry out this work, it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements with a prohibition of driving (road closure). The works will be carried out by our alliance partner Lafarge/Tarmac.

Information boards will be erected on site, prior to any works commencing, advising road users of the programmed work.


5th - 10th March: Glossop Road, Marple Bridge

Contractors working on behalf of National Grid are carrying out emergency work outside 74 Glossop Road, Marple Bridge.

The work requires temporary traffic signals.


7th - 8th March: Stockport Road West, Bredbury

Contractors working on behalf of Electricity North West will be installing a new supply on Stockport Road West, Bredbury, near the rear of Arden Primary School.

The work will require temporary traffic signals which will be manned throughout each day.


7th - 8th March: Lingard Lane, Bredbury

Contractors working on behalf of British Telecom will be undertaking works to clear a blocked duct on Lingard Lane, Bredbury, at the junction with Ashton Road. 

These works will require the use of a temporary lane closure.


7th - 8th March: Church Lane, Marple

Contractors working on behalf of British Telecom will be undertaking ducting works to install new cabling on Church Lane, Marple, at the junction with Hibbert Lane.

These works require the road to be closed to traffic.

Access to properties in the working zone will be maintained where possible and a signed diversion route will be in place via:- Hibbert Lane, Upper Hibbert Lane, Hawk Green Road, Ridge Road, Church Lane for traffic heading in an easterly direction and Derby Street, Hibbert Lane for traffic heading in a westerly direction.


7th - 9th March: Torkington Road, Hazel Grove

Contractors working on behalf of United Utilities are replacing a service on Torkington Road, Hazel Grove between Avondale Avenue and Avondale Road.

The work will require temporary traffic signals on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th, two way traffic will be maintained on Monday 9th.


8th March: King Street West, Stockport

Electricity North West will be working on repairs to a cable fault at the junction of King Street West, Stockport with Heaton Lane roundabout.

The works will require a road crossing and it will be necessary to close King Street West to northbound traffic which will be diverted via Wood Street, Hollywood Way and Travis Brow. King Street West will remain open throughout the works for southbound traffic.


9th - 13th March: Bramhall Lane South, Bramhall

Contractors working on behalf of Network Rail will be carrying out repairs to the Railway Bridge on Bramhall Lane South, between Hartington Road and Bramley Close.

The work will require temporary traffic signals between 9.30am and 3.30pm each day.


9th - 13th March: Finney Lane, Heald Green

Contractors working on behalf of Stockport Council will be undertaking footway resurfacing works on Finney Lane, Heald Green, between the junctions with Roseacre Drive and Thornton Road, and also between the junctions with Freshfield and Waterford Place. 

These works will require the use of temporary traffic controls between 9.30am and 3.30pm only.


9th - 20th March: Bramhall Park Road, Bramhall

Stockport Council will be resurfacing part of the carriageway on Bramhall Park Road/Carrwood Road from the junction with Manor Road to Warren Close. This work will be carried out by our Alliance Partner Lafarge/Tarmac.

All works will be carried out between 8.00am to 5.30pm. To carry out this work it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements with a prohibition of driving (road closure) to minimise disruption and allow safe working operations to take place.

A diversion route will be signed utilising; Carrwood Road, Bramhall Lane South and Bramhall Park Road. Access to properties in the working zone will be maintained where possible but may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses.


9th - 12th March: Belmont Way, Heaton Norris

Contractors working on behalf of United Utilities will be cleaning the sewer on Belmont Way, Heaton Norris near to Albion Mills.
 
The work is scheduled to take place over three nights, between 10.00pm and 6.00am using temporary traffic signals.


10th March: Hibbert Lane, Marple

Contractors working on behalf of BT are replacing a pole on Hibbert Lane, Marple, between Woodville Drive and Buxton Lane.

The work requires Stop/Go boards between 9.30am and 3.00pm.


 

11th March: The Ridge, Marple

Contractors working on behalf of BT will be replacing a pole on The Ridge, approximately 30m north of Wybersley Road.

The works require temporary traffic signals between 9.30am and 3.00pm.


11th - 18th March: Wellington Road North, Stockport

Contractors working on behalf of BT will be installing a cabinet on Wellington Road North at the side of Debenhams, Stockport.

The work will require a temporary lane closure between 9.30am and 3.30pm.


11th - 19th March: Clifton Road, Heaton Moor

Stockport Council will be resurfacing the carriageway on Clifton Road, Heaton Moor, from Heaton Moor Road to the junction with Buckingham Road West. This work will be carried out by our Alliance Partner Lafarge/Tarmac.

To carry out this work it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements with a prohibition of driving (road closure) for traffic during the working hours of 8.00am to 5.30pm.

A diversion route will be signed utilising; Heaton Moor Road/Thornfield Road/Mauldeth Road and Clifton Road. 


11th - 16th March: Upton Avenue, Heaton Moor

Stockport Council will be resurfacing the carriageway on Upton Avenue, Heaton Moor. This work will be carried out by our Alliance Partner Lafarge/Tarmac.

To carry out this work it will be necessary to restrict traffic movements with a prohibition of driving (road closure) for traffic during the working hours of 8.00am to 4.30pm.

During this time signage will be in operation to minimise disruption and allow safe working operations to take place. Access to properties in the working zone will be maintained where possible but may be restricted for certain periods as the work progresses.


22nd March: Bramhall Lane, Davenport

Contractors working on behalf of British Telecom will be undertaking works to access a box in the carriageway on Bramhall Lane, Davenport, at the junction with Woodend Road. 

These works will require the use of temporary traffic signals between 7.30am and 12.30pm only.
