The latest roadworks in Stockport is as follows:

27th March - TBC: George Lane, Bredbury

United Utilities will be working on a water main burst in the carriageway at the junction of George Lane/Berrycroft/Barrack Hill/School Brow from today. The works will require that the junction signals are decommissioned and temporary 4 way lights are installed for the duration of the repair, staffed during busy periods.


6th May – 1st July: Coleridge Road, Reddish

Footway Reconstruction is being carried out on Coleridge Road, Reddish.. This work is to begin week commencing 6th May 2013, between the hours of 8am and 4pm each day. The scheme is anticipated to take up to 8 weeks to complete. Property owners who are directly affected have received a letter outlining the scope of the work and the timescales involved.


16th May – 26th May: Highfield Road and Sandown Road, Hazel Grove

Footway treatment works are being carried out on Highfield Road and Sandown Road, Hazel Grove. This work is to begin 16th May 2013 and is anticipated to take up to ten days to complete, depending on weather. Property owners who are directly affected have received notification outlining the scope of the work and the timescales involved.


20th May – 27th May: Southdown Crescent, Cheadle Hulme

Footway treatment works are being carried out on Southdown Crescent, Cheadle Hulme. This work is to begin 20th May 2013 and is anticipated to take up to a week to complete, depending on weather. Property owners who are directly affected have received notification outlining the scope of the work and the timescales involved.


20th May – 15th November: A6 Wellington Road South, Town Centre Area

The Council is to commence construction works for the above scheme on A6 Wellington Road South at and between the junctions with Railway Road/John Street and Exchange Street/St Petersgate. For further information visit www.stockport.gov.uk/a6.


28th May – 30th May: Hulme Hall Road/Higham Street – Cheadle Hulme

Carriageway and Footway Reinstatement works are being carried out on Southdown Crescent, Cheadle Hulme. Temporary two way signals will be in operation from 9.30am to 3.30pm.


2nd June – 16th June: Ack Lane East, Bramhall

Carriageway repairs are being carried out on Ack Lane East from approximately Woodford Road to the Village square Car Park entrance at the side of the Victorian public house. This work is to begin Sunday 2nd June 2013 and once started should take approximately three Sundays to complete, weather permitting. Temporary road closure will be required on Sunday 2nd, 9th & 16th June 2013 to restrict through traffic. Signed diversions will be in operation on the dates specified above.

Accommodation work involving ironwork adjustment will be carried out between Monday and Friday between the 2nd and 16th June for short periods. The road will not be closed during the accommodation work. Access to properties located within the works area will be limited during work times, however information signs have been erected on site and property owners who may be directly affected have received a letter outlining the scope of the work and the timescales involved.
