Other Ways to Pay
If you have received an invoice from Stockport Council requesting payment, you can do this a number of ways.
You can pay your council bills online with any of the following types of credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Solo, Visa Electron, Delta) using the 'Other Stockport Council Invoices' payment page.
Payments can now be made over the telephone by debit which is available 24 hours a day. Please call 0161 474 4050.
Select option 4 for Sundry Debts (this includes payments for Social Care Charges).You will need your debit/ credit card.
Paying online through your bank
The Council's bank details for receiving payment are:
Barclays Bank Plc, Sort Code 20-82-13, Account Number 10840181
Pay at a Post Office or a PayPoint/Payzone outlet
Take your bill with you and use the barcode on the front to make payments by cash (or debit /credit card if the outlet accepts these). You should allow up to 5 working days to reach your account.
Pay by cheque through the post. Cheques should be made payable to Stockport Council and sent to: Exchequer Services – Payments, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, Town Hall, Stockport, SK1 3XE.
Write your name, address and account number on the back of the cheque. Cheques must not be post-dated. Please enclose a stamped self addressed envelope if you want a receipt.
