Active Stockport

There are hundreds of ways to get active in Stockport!

Government guidelines recommend that adults should do a minimum of 30 minutes moderate-intensity physical activity, five days a week. This can include any physical activity from cleaning to gardening to walking to work, anything that makes you a little warm and out of breath.

At least three of the 30 minutes should include a sport or recreational activity. This can include recreational walking or cycling, a gym workout, team sport, jogging or any moderate intensity sport or recreational activity that raises your breathing rate.

Stockport’s many parks and leisure facilities are the ideal place to take that first step to achieving your 5 x 30 minutes per week.
